    Electric underfloor heating

    Electric underfloor heating uses heating cables or mats installed beneath the floor surface. It's quicker to install, lower in upfront cost, and ideal for single rooms, particularly bathrooms.

    The system runs on a programmable thermostat and timer. Most people set it to come on before they get up and switch off automatically.

    Wet underfloor heating

    Wet underfloor heating circulates warm water from your boiler through pipes beneath the floor. Because heat is spread across a large surface, the water can be cooler than in a standard radiator, which means your boiler runs more efficiently.

    It costs more to install but is more cost-effective at scale. It's the right choice for new builds, extensions, or whole-house installations where the floor is already being lifted.
